Dr. Robert Coben, Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist who earned his doctoral degree in 1991 and has been a licensed psychologist since 1994.

He completed advanced post-doctoral training in clinical and rehabilitation neuropsychology at UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California. Throughout his career, he has directed inpatient and outpatient brain rehabilitation programs and has served in leadership roles in neurorehabilitation and clinical neuropsychology.

Dr. Coben maintains professional affiliations with Winthrop University Hospital and is an affiliated researcher at NYU Medical Center, where he continues to contribute to both clinical practice and neuroscience research.

He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the International Neuropsychological Society, the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR), and the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB).

An internationally recognized researcher and author, Dr. Coben has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Neurotherapy and Frontiers in Child Health and Human Development, and as a reviewer for leading journals including Neuroregulation, Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Clinical Neurophysiology, NeuroImage, and the Journal of Psychophysiology. He has also edited special journal issues on EEG connectivity, applied neuroscience, neuromodulation, and neurofeedback, and served as editor of the book Neurofeedback and Neuromodulation: Techniques and Applications.

Dr. Coben's research focuses on integrating neuropsychology and neurophysiology to better understand childhood neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly autism spectrum disorder, and to develop more effective assessment and treatment approaches. He is an award-winning researcher in the fields of quantitative EEG (qEEG) assessment and neurofeedback for autism spectrum disorder.

A respected leader in the field, Dr. Coben has served as President of the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) and as President of the International Board of Quantitative Electrophysiology (IBQE).

Above all, Dr. Coben is a compassionate clinician, researcher, educator, and, perhaps most importantly, a really great guy who has dedicated his career to helping children and families affected by autism spectrum disorder and other brain-based challenges.
