Hello! I’m Dr. Laura Standridge, a chiropractor, licensed neurofeedback professional, certified Interactive Metronome® provider, and neurodevelopment consultant. As a clinical educator and mother of a child with brain-related challenges, I focus on identifying and addressing the root neurological drivers of symptoms so you can get your life back.
WELCOME.
One in four Americans is struggling with psychological disorders. One in seven struggles with a neurodevelopmental disorder, such as Dyslexia (~1 in 5), ADHD (~1 in 9), Autism (~1 in 36). These overlap — many children meet criteria for more than one condition. In our practice, we can help you identify what is blocking your way through a comprehensive assessment process. Then we will work with you to develop a customized training plan to get you back on track and ready to move forward. Let’s take that next step together.
Roadmaps, not labels.
Some worry that a diagnosis will be used as a label. And no one likes labels. Not what we do. For us, understanding the problem doesn’t mean you are getting a label. It means you are getting a map, with guideposts that point the way to the solution. Most often, our clients are relieved when they finally know what’s wrong. For many, it allows them to accept the challenge and move ahead. It can remove the confusion, and reduce the guilt or self-blame. Most importantly, it can increase your motivation to do the tough work of change.

“[EEG biofeedback] should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy, it would be universally accepted and widely used…It is a field to be taken seriously by all.”

“This is a degree of improvement that we have not previously observed in children with ADHD unless they were receiving medications — and then only if they were receiving the correct medication at optimal dose. The improvements following Interactive Metronome training were substantial.”

Education

Order Matters
The order of brain development is crucial in our approach. The healer inside wants us to start at the brainstem, where many critical answers to learning problems begin. But at some point, our brains require top-down stimulation for optimal growth. qEEG Neurofeedback makes use of the higher brain’s capacity for change to reshape brain networks in the cortex and cerebrum, once the lower networks are stable enough to receive it. Knowing where each client is in their development is key to recommending, customized protocols from bottom up, inhibiting from top-down.

Learning
Learning Disorders are not reading, writing or calculating disorders, they are brain problems. Neurotiming® and neurofeedback are research-proven ways to improve brain function. Emerging research is showing that remediating these reflexes before cortical brain training is most effective. Neuronal integration is an energy-dependent process. Mitochondrial efficiency sets the ceiling for developmental potential. Simply put, cognition emerges from integration.
Integration requires energy.
The foundation of learning is bioenergetic.

Daily Practice
Your label is not you. We all live our life through our neural system, and the home is the best place for consistency of the application of the principles tailored to your family taught in our neurodevelopmental consulting program for optimal functioning and learning.
